Somebody suggested that I submit my site to directories. Does it help? How does it work? Can I outsource the job? What will it cost approximately?

    Thanks for your help!!:)

yea it may help - if you have aUK site then submitting to UK directories will help your websites rankings.

They are not the most powerful links on the web - as if you think - exampledirectory.com has 20,000 links coming out of it... thus you are just one of 20,000 links originating from that website... naturally it would be better if you were the only link coming out of the site.

There are lots of services which will do this task - but remember you get what you pay for.

Prices start from 200 directory submissions for about $20, of which depending on your site you amy get 200 links but from my experience you might get 5-10 from this kind of service. The indian SEO market is a good place to look as their manual labour rate is cheaper than usa etc
