I have about 6,000 inbound link to my homepage and i am starting to create a lot of deep links to inner pages of the site. my question is, does building deep links affect the SERPS and PR of the homepage or does it just affect the page you are putting the links to? Regards.
Every page has its individual Identity, If you keep on building links for the homepage, you can see that in ranks, but if nothing is done for the inner pages they might not appear.. No effect as such on homepage, but the Individual PR and SERPS of the inner pages would be increasing.
Deep links help in proper indexing of that pages and add value to that pages ... However, positive effect on over all website ... Keep doing that All the best ...
Bob, so getting deep link WILL help the overall site not just that page? What exactly do mean by positive effect for all website? Thanks.
Deep links are useful for a site because it enhances the usability and visibility of the interior pages of a site, thus it helps the site's over-all structure
you should include a link to your homepage somewhere on every page on your website, so as the deep links transfer 'juice' to your pages, it all flows back to / include a link to your sitemap on every page too!
