    My guess - sends some of the more rare terms in your page to some search engine, and scans the results for near-exact matches.

    It 'magically' scours the entire internet in seconds to determine if your work is duplicated elsewhere. It works by robbing its users of 5 cents per whirl! I am a big doubter and believe the developer is a multi-millionaire by now!
