I am familiar with forums. Usually people bookmark then come back later to ask questions, ect. But how does blog traffic work? They hear about it on msn then go on it once and thats it? Someone please explain. I am clueless with blogs!
Basically blog traffic works through many places like Search Engines Twitter and all other stuffs.. What I understand if you write good quality content every day as you heard this phrase content is king which mean good quality content google will love you. Good quality content you will be ranked well in google and people comes to your blog and in this way you become more popular as they started to subscribe your blog. I read a lot of random blogs on a day to day basis. Typically I just search for information on Google for something I am looking for. Sometimes I find a great blog and bookmark it to read other articles later.
I normally just look on forums and find blogs in other peoples signatures such as my own. Most of time I keep them in my favorites. I have around 50 or 60 blogs bookmarked.
If you provide a lot of good content, people will come. They will also link to their friends, on forums, etc. You'll get traffic and with all the links, the SEs will love you.
Basically the same as a regular website, but some people just like following others on a day to day basis. Especially if they find something good to read about.
My blogs readers mostly are regular one, but I found out that more visitors who stumble upon you blog will click your ads compare to regular one who normally return to your blog for new posts, not info or ads link. Any good idea to increas more new readers?
Usually we find blogs by keywords.What make it popular is the content.But some are just for common communication.A lot of them are for commercial use and those guys who operate them will benefit much for them.
I found most of blogs I read on Google or my friends suggested them to me. Then I read few posts and if I like them I add them in Google Reader and than I return to blog every time they publish new post.
I have seen Google blogs on page 1 of good keywords. With more good posts to your blogs it will slowly get a better page ranking, try to at least get 10 post into your blogspot or other blog, 100 posts would be better. You will see the results.

Find long tail keywords that you want to target and make posts with the topic title the same as the keyword.
