Hi! Do you have any Idea how do PayPal deals with chargebacks when a scammer with a fraudulent PayPal account buys a product from a merchant and charges back after receiving it. Thanks
What can PayPal do in this case? They will refund the money to the regular owner and the product has gone for free.
You can do nothing in this case because because paypal gives more preference to the buyers rather than sellers. Now if you can go to the paypal office and submit all the proofs and identities regarding the transaction then it ok or you can do 1 thing, after recieving the money in your paypal account just take it our from your paypal account and transfer in your bank account.
paypal definitely protects the buyer in most cases. So the seller is out of luck. They said it depends though, there is a certain level of protection for merchants that sell goods, but not services.
Don't forget that the status of the account also plays a factor into these cases (verified vs. non-verified)
I see here on DP people who accept PayPal balance (no cc), does it make any difference? how can you tell I you received money from the sender balance or CC? Thank you
Print Shipping label and ship a contract of the sale if it's really big one and deal with verified members
CC can be chargedback even longer then PP but there is no big difference because I can create premier account and send money from this to another premier account in another name and send from this account balance then but in the end if the money is chargedback it is gone in both cases.
So sad, but true. I had to learn this the hard way (with my personal paypal account.) Fortunately, we use wire payments instead of paypal as payment for the affiliate program I manage.
If they chargeback via their bank/credit card, it's pretty much guaranteed that paypal will do nothing and your buyer will get their money back. I don't believe you have any way of knowing how the buyer paid you. I'm fairly sure of this because I've had some crazy buyers email me asking ME if they used "x card" or "y card". There's no way I can tell how they paid.
