I know people do it and claim to acquire blog links if done successfully. How exactly does it work? You write the article, submit to sources, and then what? thanks in advanced!
Thats pretty much it. If you write high quality articles, people will want to put them on thier site. You have a link to your site at the bottom. I've got a list of some of the better ones hereFree article submission sites You can also find people that will write and submit the article for you for pretty cheap
What I do is write one article for my site and then write a similar, but different article to submit to article dirs. That way you avoid the duplicate content issue for your site. Of course, I wonder how many copies of your article will really get out there since they will all be the same and thus duplicates of themselves.
quaffapint, can u or anyone else elaborate on this duplicate content issue please? Ive been hearing about it a lot here but I dont understand the problem of having the same exact article.
Article Submission is low traffic generation to a site but good way to get backlinks for SEO. If you want get a lot of traffic from article directories to your site, you must submit a lot of articles to article directories. e.g submit 3-4 articles to more 150 article directories daily, but don't be duplicate content. So you need article submitter software or article distribution service to save your time.
article submission work. just write a nice article, get one or two links of yours in the article. and then start submitting it. then you will get a lot of backlinks from all those sites where you have submitted your article. easy way to get quality backlinks, for free!!
When Google finds duplicate content - same article on Sites A, B, C, etc...It will try to only keep a single copy in its main index and place the rest in its 'supplemental' index (which means noone will see it).
But this is not really our problem as article submitters. Reasonably Google does not want to show pages with the same article 500 times in their search results, so they try to only show it once. If you put duplicate content on your site it will not hurt you unless that is all you have, but don't expect to get search engine traffic for that page. If it is usefull to your visitor than it might still be good to have on your site. As submitters all we care about is the link back, which seems to work fine even on duplicate content pages. The whole Idea of using the article directories is the hope that other sites will pick up your article and you will get more links, therefore we are promoting duplicate content. As far as no one seeing it. That depends on the site picking it up. I have some article directory pages on a couple of my sites because I like the article, these pages get regular visitors, I just don't have the page show in the serps often so they do not bring me much search engine traffic. However, I have many pages that people have linked to from forums and blogs that are duplicate pages. So these pages still do bring me some traffic.
