Hey guys, You might be interested in this. I made a digpicz.com a picture site for digg and it received an amazing burst of traffic from Digg. I had foreseen this and had written a program which pre-generated the pages before serving them to users. It was like everything was cached. I ran it on DreamHost (aff) shared hosting server and it handled 100'000 uniques and 200'000 page views with no noticeable performance degradation! I released full source code (Perl scripts) of the website and documented how I created it: Designing Digg Picture Website After the first day I launched it I wrote an article with traffic statistics and how I handled the load to my blog now (it got both digpicz.com and catonmat.net (my blog, running wordpress) submitted to digg with an hour difference) This article is here: A Few Words About digpicz.com I am now working on popurls.com like site for pictures which aggregates best stuff from 10-20 buzziest sites on the net I hope you enjoy the articles, P.Krumins
