I am thinking of doing this unless I can find a good 3 column blogger template. I can barely spell HTML so a not too technical answer would be much appreciated!
I think WordPress has a script where it will port your Blogger database to WordPress, but you'll still have to come up with (or find) a theme to use it with. What are your requirements for the three column theme? Fixed width? Fluid width? What do you want in the side columns? Do you want the menu to appear directly below the header (but above the columns) or in one of the columns? I'd be more than happy to point some out to you. I just need to know a few things first.
Actually, in the options panel there's an import section, where you can easily select Blogger and it will walk you through
Actually a three column blogger would be cool. I just can't seem to find any-if you could point the way.....

Yeah, everyone says use wordpress.... I'm gonna start migrating................. I tried doing a custom blogger template and almost erased my blog! Thanks
Wordpress installation is very easy and it's fun to use, but if you upgraded to the new Blogger, I don't think there is an option for importing it to Wordpress yet.
Actually, I changed my mind-Wordpress won't allow adsense ( So I am back to Blogger and looking for a 3 column template......
I thought it was weird, I have seen other wordpress blogs with adsense...Then why did it say NO ADSENSE (or pay per post etc) for their blogs? I am confuzzled! I did manage to download a 3 column blogger template successfully after a lot of fiddling-I'm pasting out my widgets now before I switch it over! What is better about Wordpress? Blogger is easy to work with and I've made page 1 in Google for some of the keywords I am interested in. CONVINCE ME
If you are on page 1 in google with blogger You should not switch from blogger. What I would do is rather branch out . Make a new site in the same niche and maintain both and bring the new site to page 1 too. My .02 idea
It's not true that you can't use adsense on wordpress. However, if you are already comfortable with using blogger and have found the 3column template that you want, then that's it.
Here is the blurb from Wordpress RE Adsense: Adsense and other Ads Adsense, Yahoo, Chitika and other ads are not permitted to be added by users. Adverts that may be inserted when using an external blogging program will be blocked. Sponsored / paid posts including PayPerPost and ReviewMe are not permitted. A discrete link to your business or a site you are associated with in the sidebar or an About page is permitted. A discrete link to Amazon or similar in the context of a post is okay, but if the primary purpose of the blog is to drive traffic to affiliate programs that’s not allowed. If you’re not sure, contact support. Clicktrackers and any promotion of the “I made a million on the internet and so can you†type of advertising are expressly forbidden. We have a very low tolerance for blogs created purely for search engine optimization or commercial purposes, machine-generated blogs, and will continue to nuke them, so if that’s what you’re interested in WordPress.com is not for you. – You may see some advertising on the domain. 1. VIP blogs are able to run ads. 2. We also run some ads sometimes and Here's the URL:http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/ So what am I missing about this?
WordPress Allows AdSense and its easier to put ads in it.. there are many plugins available for that if you dont want to use the HTML editor.. I recommend ADSENSE DELUXE its a nice tool and can be used for placing ads of other networks too anywhere you like. While creating a new post you have the option to place the ads inside the post. Which is awesome I think WordPress is the best in terms of features offered and also in terms of the the Themes available.
That's for blogs hosted on the WordPress.com Web site. It has NOTHING to do with WordPress installations hosted elsewhere (such as the "standalone" offered on wordpress.org - which is owned by Automattic as well).
Yup, what Dan had mentioned above is true, as long as you're hosting your Wordpress under your own server, you can install whatever thing you want to, including Adsense.
