How did you start making money?

    Hey, I'm new here.
Infact, here's my introduction topic: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1004870
Feel free to reply to it.

Anyways, as you see in that thread, I'm making $0.00 per day because I'm a 15-year-old who just now decided "Hey, I'll give this a shot and put a few months into it, see what happens."
So, I'm here, eagerly wanting to learn.

So you guys that are making hundreds a month, or even $10 a month, how did you start? When you had nothing - no money, no websites/forums/blogs, software to sell, or anything.

I can't script/code either, maybe I should learn. I can only script PAWN which nobody needs because really it's useless unless you play online video games. :)

    Sincerely,
    - Stan

Hey, nice to meet you. I'm 16. CodePunk is a place where I learned a LOT. You need to know how to code; using something like FrontPage is pretty limiting.

I've been kind of messing around with web design for years now, and have made $11.90 as of the last time I checked. More than anything I just do it for the fun of it (and bragging rights too, other teenagers think I'm a genius :D ).

First I'd start on your machine, without putting it online while you're learning HTML and CSS. Use multiple browsers to make sure your site looks right in all browsers. Then I would get free hosting ( http://awardspace.com is the one I have found to be the best ) to start out with and practice getting visitors to your site. Finally, once you feel you are ready, scrape up some money and pay for a year of paid hosting, or at least a domain. Then get google adsense and start earning once you get some visitors.

    Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the tips wierdo :)
Hopefully I can deal with a sub-domain and still get visitors, I have $0 to spend.

Do PLR things ever make any money at all? I heard from a few buds that do a bit of selling PLR themselves, that they can actually make like $5 a day from it.

Is it true? Even $2 or $3 a day would be a great starting point for me.

For you, I would suggest setting up a blog at blogspot (free) then sign up for google adsense. (free)

Once that's all said and done start promoting your blog through myspace, facebook, commenting on others peoples blogs and on and on.

just keep reading and learning, it will pay off

Well if you can write something on forums and then go in BST and find forum posting jobs from service section. You will make atleast $10 to $15/ day if you can able to write 100 to 200 posts.:)

Do some forum posting to get some money. And collect that money and get some domains and hosting. Put adsense and write content. This looks pretty long procedure but its the best source of income.

Since you're only 15, you can try filling out surveys online and pretending you're 18...you can probably make around $50 in 2 weeks of work off that.

I'm 15 as well, and I made a lot of money by learning to program 3 years ago. I think you should start learning how to code xHTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, and learn about servers, IIS, etc. You can get a LOT of money by making small scripts or large automated websites. You could also make and sell web templates in BST.

I started in 1996 with a Nintendo web site. Early 1997 I got my own domain and joined the Commonwealth Network (Unless you're an internet oldie, you have no idea what this was!). A few months later I saw a check and soon realized you could make nice cash just by puting CPM banners on your site. (Remember, this was before the dot-com crash!) By late 1999 I had discovered that text links and search boxes could also spit out nice cash. Then for the year 2000, during the internet gold rush, I made almost $100,000...from just two Nintendo web sites!!! Then the dot-com crash came where you learned you have to do some work to make money!! I discovered mod_rewrite and made a bunch of Amazon stores and did one BIG screw-up...I made the script public for free. By the time I realized I had messed up and started charging for it, there was a lot of competition! Blah! Bye bye gold rush part 2!!! I also made a bunch of wikipedia content sites and milked Adsense, until Google got smart and smelled the duplicate content. Now I make most of my internet cash through the eBay Partner Network.

Quite the journey man, lol...very nice read. How's EPN going nowadays? I've heard horror stories from many people about accounts being shut down without any prior warning, for no clear breach of TOS...is EPN really going downhill?
