I thought this would be a sick idea for people to post how they started in Internet Marketing. Just answer a few of these questions even if its just one.

How did you find out about it?

A friend of a friend started on it and I started hearing how much he was pulling in everyday. He first told me about him and he was making 500 a day. Then a few weeks later hes making 700, then I heard he just made his first 1000 dollar day, then he got his peak day at 1200. That was it I couldn't stand him telling me this every couple of weeks and not jumping on it.

What was your first thought, or idea?

first thought was hey I kinda tried to do this when i was younger with porn, except it was a complete failure. But I knew enough abouy webdesign, photoshop, how to use the internet as a resource tool, and had money I was willing to blow. So my first thought was hey I can do that no problem. I immediately started searching google looking at peoples ads, their pages, their text, how they were linking etc...Very quickly I learn did ;)

What was your first book, video, or any kind of research you did?

Before even talking to my buddies buddy, just hearing all the hear say, I decided to dive in. I heard he started at wealthyaffiliate so I first did my research a bit, signed up to clickbank, adwords, and hosting so I was ready to rock. I then watched those black book project X dvds, and then decided to join WA. I really didn't require any of their tools as I had already found or had what I needed available else where. I simply used their forums, read, learned, and asked questions.

    What was your first niche?

water4gas shit. Believe it or not I did not even know for the first few days of setting this campaign up and activating it that it was just a guide to build one yourself. I thought they were actually getting a the pieces but they had to build it them selves. Very skeptical did the water4gas page portray with that image with all the necessary pieces lined up like they were being sold. None the less I people were making money on it, I had a full campaign ready to roll and I pushed it. Well 4 weeks later, $700 adspend later I made about $500. So I lost roughly $200. Althought -$200 doesn't sound very promising for my first campaign, I learned alot. I learned some stuff that works, and some stuff that didn't work. I went through about 4 different style templates, text, pictures, etc... I only had a few profitable days, but it was averagely close overall. Just long term minor losses.

How many campaigns did you try before succeeding?

My first (water4gas) was my serious one. I did about 8 half assed one just looking for a hot niche. Ended up finding one, maybe on to my 2nd as well.

How much did you spend before profiting?

    $700 made $500, so spent $200.

If there is one thng you would tell your best friend that wants to start IM, what would you say?

I would tell my best friend, do your research first, save up $500 bucks you are WILLING to lose in order to succeed, and dive in head first. This was my strategy and on my 3rd pay period I am on pace to hit $2k.

How did you find out about it?

I am so glad, that I am crazy about video games, because that's how I found out about Clickbank. I was spending quite a lot of time on one Gaming portal, and once, one guy there posted an article about making money online. That was back in 2005.

I read the article, but at that time I didn't have money to purchase the product and I thought it's just another scam. BTW, I still remember the product. It was called DataEntryBank, LOL :D Have a look > www.dataentrybank.com Look at the Clickbank screenshots.....

Then in 2006 I decided it's better to work at home and make money online, rather than work for someone. But at the time, the guy has already changed the article. This time he was promoting a product called Automated Millions, which is Nick Mark's product. (you might know him).

So that was my first product that I bought and that's how my $1 million online challenge began ;)
