...I taught myself basically... The classes at college aren't that helpful for a pro graphic designer (based on my personal experience of course - I don't know what all classes are available lol)
Point and click mostly, tough now I realize that If I read a book about it or watched more tuts I would've known way more
Buy 1 or 2 photoshop good photoshop books and always learn new tips and tricks from tutorial sites ie. tutorialized.com, pixel2life.com etc.
at first i don't have internet connection so i have to read books and magazine about adobe photoshop or study by my self, when the time i already had internet connection i started to search more tutorial in the net.. and i find this one www.photoshoptv.com and this one www.biorust.com . hope this can help
The hard way lol.... no seriously, if you have a brain at all photoshop is a piece of cake. Learn the tools>shortcuts first... then, when you need to do something specific, dig up a tutorial. They are all over the web. This is a situation where learning by doing is the best way to go. Nigel
I started photoshop just by messing around with it.... and I guess I've gotten pretty okay at it kaigee.deviantart.com (if anyone wants to check out some of my graphic work) I later took a course in Graphic Design for almost two years but dropped it before I finished because I found it pretty useless because they didn't teach anything I didn't already know.
this is a great thread with a lot of resources. For the good web designers here, I'd like to know how you go about designing new websites. Can you please recommend any good overall design sites you learned from? http://alistapart.com comes to my mind. Layout, colors, and style -- beyond just photoshopping a nice logo.
10 Years ago, when i just started to play with computers, i discovered that amazing software called: photoshop 4.0.. Every time i opened my pc, that was the only soft i wanted to play with. no games, no Internet... Only photoshop. Only 2 years ago i decided to do something with this knowledge i got, and try to make some money of it.. I think that adobe are brilliant company and i love the way they changed the digital art life. God bless Adobe... Nahum Takum
i just learn from my friend. he very expert in editing. i use their expertise to edit much kind of ma pic n upload it at myspace. huhuh
Mostly I learned by myself, playing around with Photoshop. Photoshop is addictive for me and I always think I want to learn more. A nice graphic application.
I just taught myself, If I needed any help I would just look up videos on how to use a certain feature. Also, I am pretty tech savvy so this helped as well.
I learned the basics in middle and high school but i actually learned the most when i got a job at a design and printing company. That's when i learned with looked good and what looks like a 5 yr old made it in word lol. and i sometimes use online tutorials, especially when a new version of software comes out to see the new and exciting things! lol
I guess the best way to learn photoshop is to learn it from an institute (by paying). But ensure that the instructor is really good. Once you have covered all the options, sit at home and practice.
