And you expect us to be satisfied with that, you don't get away that easily. Tell all or start a genuine personal blog. Bare your soul. What is there to be afraid of There is nothing to fear but fear itself...
Well, consider this a learning experience ... if you really wanted to keep this a secret you shouldn't have posted anything... live and learn... But for the here and now ... let's have it ... what's the full story?
My story is boring. It was pretty much a completely random word that popped into my head. Now let's have at that story david_sakh
Yeah come on David Sakh. Tell us before our minds start to wander and then we'll really be messed up.
I want to hear the story as well. My name is obvious to anyone in the midwest who is a railfan. I grew up in Glendale, MO and the The MoPac (Missouri Pacific) Railroad ran through our municipality. I used to ride my bike out to the Kirkwood train station and watch the trains go by. The Missouri Pacific merged with the Union Pacific back in the early 80's and the the MoPac was no more. From the being the second railroad west of the Mississippi river to being one of the largest railroads, and now it's just a memory. And here's a bit of history for you: the only location that can be documented where Jesse James robbed a train in Missouri is a spot along the tracks in, you guessed it, Glendale. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
OK david_sakh, time's up. It's been 24 hours since nobody else called you an idiot. You gonna spill the beans or what? <edit>You noticed the Ads on this thread? Mental Health! I hope Weirfire's alright.</edit>
Yep. I was gonna "hold up" his thread until he answered Ms. T's question. The Belgians got there first though...
i was looking for a new name for a company and a friend of mine told me about this word which apparently is ancient greek. he said arestia ment "excessive pride". that matched up with me so i went with it. -Dan
Hi All: Some really interesting origins here and a nice way to meet some good people. As a Psychotherapist, I always liked to hear my client's stories. To do that type of work, you have to be "unshockable" (if that is a word). You can never say "how disgusting" or the like. And just when I thought I had heard it all, there was always someone with an even more bizarre life story. Great meeting you all! Cordially,
An example of which being...? From your psychotherapist's professional point of view, Ms. T., why would a person start to divulge information then retract halfway through? Surely they must wish to tell or they would not have started in the first place? Is there help for them yet? Can they be saved?
Mine is rather simple, it's my name spelled in reverse. Aneley-Jelena, or something close to it. I've been using the nickname for years in the art community, it almost became like my second name.
Hi Lever: IMO, when a person starts to tell a "secret" and then does not reveal it, there are a couple of issues involved. First, the person likes the idea of the power and control of him or her knowing and others NOT knowing unless the individual decides to reveal this information. Second, the person likes the idea of being asked to divulge the secret and the attention that goes with it. Third, whether or not the secret is ultimately revealed depends upon the degree of embarrassment involved. Cordially,
Latehorn as of longhorn due to the fact that it was supposed to be released in 2004..still havn't been released..
