How did Yahoo beat Excite?

    If you don't already know.Back in the day there were 2 big giants Yahoo and Excite.They were basically the same.Thus they were competing against each other.So how did Yahoo beat Excite?

    Unlike Yahoo , Excite was always full of funding problems . Hence it wasn't able to grow and compete.
