you can learn a lot from how the DP forums grew if you take a step back and look at it. before the forums were big, the tools were the big attraction. content. the content had plugs for the forums. that's step number one: have a site getting decent traffic, and plug your forums on them. that's how you get things started, from there you can take dozens of different routes that essentially boil down to how big you want your forum to get and how much time you're willing to spend maintaining it.

yep DP is a good forum ... however donot know how did they grew ... however here are the few methods that i think may helpful to grow the forum . 1. Try general niche than specific niche . For example its better to create forums on pets than forum of cats (and then keep adding sub catagories).. 2. Like any other business keep spending some part of your earnings to grow your forum .. for example spend 25% of your earnings to bring new visitors. you can launch your own pay per lead program for forum (paying affiliates $1or $2 for every member you get view their website). alternatively you can try PPC . 3. Moderation is very imporant . Hire few peoples to fight spam .. clean and spam free forums are favorite to users 4. you can get contest /tell a friend programs to invite more users . advertise forum like you advertise any other website .
that's what i'm talking about. how, when the DP forums were getting started, did they get people so interested in their content and get them to promote the site?
