John's blog is alright but I do not think it really provides any type of great content for anyone. I like shoemoney and other blogs a lot more than I do Chow's.
Ha haaaaa its funny how you mostly seem to slate his content, but I bet you would all sell your grandma to be him
Now only john chow, but also problogger, doshdosh, entrepreneurs-journey, labnol and much more. All these blogs has 100% original contents and they are helpful to others.
They don't have 100% unique content at all if you read daily over many of the most popular internet marketing blogs they all cover the same news and stories. Anyways I was focusing on John Chow because his blog is not a blog focused on internet marketing or making money online its a personal blog about John Chow who makes money online.
John writes at least 1 post every 3-4 hours unless it's a paid review which gets 12 hours of exposure. He has worked very hard to keep John Chow updated and done very well for himself!
He is not a silent man...He is willing to help us but I think he have something that we dont know... He is using it for a quiet long time and he will not share it to us. If ever someone of us here in dp discover his ever kept secret, kindly share it to us. Lol
It's like somebody else already said.. it's all hype. It seems like once you successfully hype yourself up.. you can sell just about anything to anybody.
It`s all because he has always been devoted to JohnChow.com, and never even felt doing something else, apart from techzone and TTZ Media. SEO is another good answer to your question, he still receivess tons of search engine traffic, and lets not forget that he is one of the first popular blogger in all blogging history. No doubts here. PS. He doesn`t have the car anymore. It`s long time gone now. But still has approx. 40K rss readers which is a lot. Affiliate marketing a la carte.
Willy: In my opinion it's because he knows how to marketing his blog. No matter how bad you think his content is he gets tons of visits either way. His little ebook was a great idea got him tons of backlinks.
Yeah agreed his eBook did a lot of positive stuff for his blog and it was probably before everyone started using it as a marketing tool. He is great at marketing and with the kind of funds he had available to him at the time he was probably able to do quite a lot.
I think its the same principle behind some guy scribbling on a newspaper and selling it for 2 million to the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. It's just being in the right place at the right time, getting the right people to notice you, and sometimes just sheer luck. John Chow is pretty entertaining... so that has to count for something, right?
