I too agree with "Jim4767" ... a webmaster should target keywords which get searched and send visitors to our site through those keywords ranking on search engines.... if the keyword are not being searched and low competitive then it wont send visitors to site .. ultimately its of no use ...

 

exactly correct..SEO's like myself wont bother ranking for "rabbit gaming forum" lol

 

ranking for an unknown keyword is as good as ranking in 500 or 600 for a popular keyword. you are not going to egt any hit....

yeah all those people are right who say get ranked for competitive keyword otherwise it is a waste of time.

I'm relatively new to SEO - only being doing it for a little over 1 years. And really from what I can tell it comes down to 2 things: money or time.

SEO isn't hard work, but it does require time and creativity. Link building, properly formatting your content, writing good content, etc. All of this can be done for free but it requires work and lots of time and resources.

But if you don't have time, the other option is money. You basically pay someone else for their time - and they go through the processes mentioned above. Personally I think time is more expendable then money, and it will give you more say and knowledge over what you're doing and how to fix your own seo related problems without having to pay someone else each time (you become dependent like that). I like to learn so I don't mind investing the time, but if you're the kind that's willing to spend and don't want to spend your time, then you'll have to pay someone or some group to do it for you.
