How did Helium get so many pageview in so little time?

I read somewhere that www.helium.com had 8 million pageviews in 100 days.

I had never heard of them or seen an ad for them. How the heck did they do that?

 

look at the domain itself.it tell you why.

 

probably cash. lately i've been hearing about the incredible amounts of money invested in some of the more successful startups of the last few years. while the owners are trumpeted as the next great bootstrapping entrepreneurs, it's a load of bull. oh, i'm jealous, but it's pretty hard not to get noticed if someone hands you a few million.

I think helium.com was sold on DNforum recently, or maybe it was just my imagination.

Some of my parked domains have seen helium ads shown, not surprisingly though as the keyword i chose was 'helium'
