Hi all.. Google started selling advertisements on search apparently only since 2000. How did they make money from 1996 to 1999?

Surprisingly Yahoo is among the list of contributors that provided funding in the initial phase.

The moral of this story is:

If you are making no money right now, be happy because you will be rich soon!!!
