How did Google get so popular?

Google gave the first web search i guess .. people wanted information and google made it easy to get it ..

 

I think it is very popular, that is because people can quickly find the message which they want

 

because google improves its quality, technology etc every now and then......it is keep on advancing that no one can near it

 

google has many benefit like google crawl search, google promotion strategies and one hand authority makes google no 1.

 

Google provides a simple but effective service. Just look at their main landing page it's simple and not cluttered with adverts

 

Google is a big player, has a lot of services to offer (webmaster tools, google sites, google docs blah blah blah) and their results are the most relevant of all search engines. Another thing is that google searches are faster than any other search engine

 

Google grew big because of it's core product: search. It did it very well, it keeps improving it, and people like that.

 

Wise person with grandiose purpose are the reasons.

I guess it's the simple design of their homepage that made them so popular.

 

I have no clue why google achieved the success it did and to think Yahoo could of wiped em out.

 

When I first started using google in 2001, the simplicity of their homepage caught my eye! At the time I was using some site called 21 or something that combined the results from 21 search engines!

But whenever I was looking for something all of the top searches and relative as well were shown from google! Pretty soon I started using just Google, because it always gave me what I was looking for! Have u noticed yahoo and msn's front pages?

Newbies can barely see, where they have to put the search text!

 

They were the first.. they invented the search engine technology

 

First of what? There were search engines before google! We were using Altavista at one point, around 99 and I had never heard of google!

 

well google does have great services, but dont you guys think yahoo has better ones? i mean other than the webmaster services like someone pointed out, it seems as if yahoo has them.

 

Word of mouth made them so famous, they offered something that everyone wanted so everyone talked about it.

Google was a university tool and by the time "Google" realised their own entity, they were already popular.

 

I think Google is so popular because of their reliable "search results" and its simplicity.

 

Due to quality of work and link, google get popular

 

Google got its popularity because of its services and the search engine itself because when you compare the search time in Google and to the other search engines, Google is really fast and reliable. It is also being popular because of the word of mouth of a lot of people saying that Google can give them the best and suitable answer with their questions right away.Google also have a lot of updates and store stuffs for those websites.
