How deep with sitemaps

I'm thinking about re-doing our sitemap, but I'm wondering how deep I actually need to go with my links. In other words, let's say that I have top level brand categories, then top level part numbers, and finally specific part numbers. Do I need to include all of the pages on my onsite .html sitemap? Or can I just include all of the upper level pages, and use the .xml sitemap for the deeper pages?

    Make sense?

Your XML sitemap should be your ENTIRE site, don't leave anything out.

If each separate link makes logical sense to include on the html sitemap, then include all links. Sitemaps not only help visitors find the information they are looking for, it also assists web spiders in indexing your site.

Search engines use the XML standard for sitemaps, not html :D

With a depth of 10 You should have most of your pages.. It really depends on the size of your website. If its big I wouldnt do all but do it selective if your site isnt that big just do all of them
