How could I make more $$ off my high traffic site?

Hey guys... first post! .

I run a news website that has high traffic with over 2 mill pageviews per month. But I am no expert when it comes to monetizing. I dont really have a set plan or direction and i am looking for advice and tips if possible. Currently I run adsense and have a 2 direct deals with a couple of companies for ad space. I believe i should really be making a lot more money off my site than I am though. Does anyone have an idea of what the adspace on my site would be worth, because i dont even know if I am charging enough for my ads. Also any estimation on how much earning potential you think a site with the pageviews i get should be making?

What would the best programs for a high traffic website be?

What is the name of your website? Provide the link, you can try CPM based advertising if you have more than 2 million pageviews on your website.

 

If you can't provide the URL, you need to at least provide the "niche" or subject of your website. What works for monetizing "blue widget" traffic will not necessarily work for monetzing "red rif-rafs"...

But have you tried cpa offers, for example?

Maybe it´s also a idea to use the contextual clickbank ads Cb engine has to offer?

Have you thought about getting sponsorship from some big names that would like to advertise to that volume of visitors? You may be able to sell ad-space to them for thousands of dollars.

Currently we are redesigning some things and adding a powerful forum software that will promote more discussion and make the site more active.

Theparrotleak.com's three-month global Alexa traffic rank is 143,199 as well as a US traffic rank of 25, 356. The site has a relatively good traffic rank in the cities of Los Angeles (#4,657), Denver (#5,910), and San Francisco (#10,088). Visitors to the site spend roughly 45 seconds on each pageview and a total of nine minutes on the site during each visit, and roughly 12% of visits to Theparrotleak.com consist of only one pageview (i.e., are bounces). Visitors to the site view an average of 8.8 unique pages per day.

I think one great thing you could do is begin a network of sites, which you can direct traffic to from the current high-traffic platform. As the network grows, you'll gain more opportunities to sell ads across the entire network, which will obviously be an excellent way to monetize the platforms.

 

See news24.com for an example of such a network.
Their Facebook app is brilliant because they get full demographics on their userbase.

 

Try CPA offers,

 

use article marketing.

 

You should approach to Google. They will put more ads on your website. Maximum clicks on links , more earnings for you.

 

I think adsense or at least that style of advertising along with CPA is your best bet.The problem is really i guess that as a news site you are not targetting a specific niche like dieting or make money so i think it would probably be a difficult to pick the right converting offers.

Nice website. The first place I would start is creating a newsletter for your visitors to subscribe to. The newsletter could feature commentary or articles about current news stories. Or even contain a current story on your site with a call to action (link) to comment on the story. You can monetize the newsletter by offering ad space for sale and maybe a cpa offer.

As far as cpa offers go, you should be able to find something that would be appropriate for each department of your site (news, sports, jobs, etc). With your stats you shouldn't have any trouble getting accepted by cpa marketing companies. I'd use clickbank as a back up if you can't find any cpa offers that compliment the different departments of your site. For example the "World" section may be hard to find a specific cpa offer, but it may be easier to find one for sports.

ever tried some cpa offers on that? also seeing that you cover almost a lot of topics on your site, i can suggest that try running some credit report offers there. i could be wrong but that's what i have in mind at the moment.

id love to see you signup on our network and present you a lot of offers to put on your site lol.

Why not just approach any of the vast array of easily findable advertising networks out there already and then let them sell ad space on your pages. If your claims are accurate, I would think you could reap some very serious revenue. It's hands-free and all you would be left doing is counting your money day in, day out.
