Looking for feedback on how to better optimize this site so it generates more page impressions: http://www.danscartoons.com/computer_cartoons.htm ? Anything in the way of keywording or something added in the HTML? The site already has a Goog PR of #5. This forum is a wonderful resource and has been very helpful in the past. Keep up the great work . . .
impression doesn't have anything to do with page optimization. what you need is more traffic to get more impressions
Hey Sultan: THAT is my question...HOW to get more traffic? I already know the SEO deal....the page has a rank of #5....but how would you yourself get drive more traffic if you were running that site? Let me hear from a pro
Try to improve your search results ranking. You will get lot of traffic from search engines. Build backlinks.
Thanks Angilina....as you can see, I am already #1, for the chosen search term in this Goog results link: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=computer+cartoons&btnG=Google+Search so I am not sure what the next step ought to be! Thanks again . . . .
This is totally the wrong section to post this. Also, being #1 for a search term doesnt mean you will get any traffic. There are some terms that are searched thousands of times while there are others that are rarely ever searched. Use a keyword tool (sorry dont have a link right off the top of my head, but try Overture) to find out what the search volume is for your particular phrase or word. Just a note - the ads on your site are barely noticeable.
when you click on each image, bring it to it's own html page. NOT just the gif. That way you can add an ad to each page. So every time someone looks, you'll get more ad exposure. Then you can social book mark all of those comics, and not just the main page. Your art is awesome, and that's obviously your forte. But we gotta do something about that page layout! Look for html templates out there. Good luck! This site has huge potential!
Corb: Thanks for the insight. Well, see the text hyperlink below each image and click that...it does take the visitor to a separate HTML page devoted to that image. Luckily I'm able to include a few ads on each page that was designed for each specific image. ManHa: As for better design, I have been told I have TOO MUCH on some pages...for instance: www.danscartoons.com and like my http://www.danscartoons.com/computer_cartoons.htm , KYslone says the ads are barely noticeable. I reckon the best thing is to try different things on different pages, so I think my next most important task is to find a way to get people to find the page even though it's #1 for it's basic search term.
Yeah but I find there's no "design", no "structure", ... don't know how to call it but I guess you understood me? There's a background colour and that's it...
.......and please provide me a link to any page or pages where you have your own ideal adsense ads . . . always good to see. Thanks again-
You will earn more if you manage to increase the CTR, not the impressions. Why on earth do you need more impressions? By splitting the content ("more..." for example) you will increase the number of impressions.
OK Zexy. In essence, THAT is the question . . . which is why I am posting here. HOW would YOU increase CTR? I agree, impressions are good, then the next step and so on. SO, HOW do or would you, increase CTR? Why on earth do I need more impressions? I know that I don't so that is what I am trying to get across. Thank you.
You can increase the CTR by: - using different colors - writing niche specific content and getting extremely targeted ads - testing different placement and ad blocks etc.
2. For targeted ads - the content should be very specific. Few articles per page displayed. Same topic. 3. Yes, you should test the different colors, placement, etc. for a few days (avoid the weekends). I hope that helps
