How complex is the coding and design of this site?

I am curious to know how much work and what kind of budget would be involved to code and design a site like this? liveplan.com

 

The fact that you need a ton of plans designed takes a good bit of time . Also at a first glance that website puts the emphasis on security so that would be quite heavy and it also has mobile compatibility which is not to easy to properly achieve . A wild guess would be a total of 1200 USD .

When you say a ton of plans what do you mean exactly?

 

I'm talking about the design of the business plans . I assume there are a few hundreds .

Wow! This Shouldnt be to hard if you know how to code well. Ehhh It take time so before you should hire a team.

 

First you'd need an MBA (at least) to design the business plans. If you want to continue to support your customers, you'll need a staff of MBAs, working permanently and full time. I think that's the point at which you're going to not be able to do this. (It doesn't matter whether you do this on the web or from a store or office - developing an individual business plan and staying with the customer for a couple of years is the same process. Not developing a good plan, or not being available until the business is on its feet, is the formula for fast failure - or your site or business.)

(And don't even think of buying a few plans from Palo Alto Software and selling them as your own. The sound of them falling on you will be heard on other planets.)

At this point, you just hire one additional person - a web developer on a contract basis. It would be a tiny part of your total expenses. It wouldn't even be a large part of your salary expense.

Can you do a project like this if you have to ask how? Probably not without professional help. (And I don't mean Rent-a-Coder for $100, I mean capitalizing a company for about half a million to start.) Selling a product that's not going to work is both fraud and a good way to trash your name.

 

You've completely missed the point of my thread. My question was about design and coding. I have no intention of starting a business plan company.

 

To be honest this is not a very complex website/design. Estimates going into thousands are really far fetched or come from people living expensive lives.
