I think it may be because Google shows more relevant results whereas Yahoo and MSN just show anything to do with any of the keywords in it. I think thats it anyway.

I think what "hosty-crocodile" said is right. Google only show refined results. Storing lot of irrelevant information is will eat google's resources so I think they only store the most relevant results.

I would like to see an example of what you are talking about.

Never done a search with few results unless I did for a rare name in quotes.

sorry, I should have explained better. I consider "few results" anything under 5 million, so basically what I meant was no matter what I search in google, the results are always a lot less than the msn search. I think hosty-crocodile answered my question though. thanks

He's talking about something like the example here, I think:

    1 - 10 of 583,000,000 for virus - Yahoo
    1-10 de 451.000.000 resultados - MSN
    1 - 10 of about 212,000,000 for virus - Google

    or, more evident

    1 - 10 of 135,000,000 for owners direct - Yahoo
    1-10 de 35.200.000 resultados - MSN
    1 - 10 of about 1,500,000 for owners direct - Google

I guess I hadn't been paying attention to the number, I thought he meant like 10 results or something.

I get it now though and like backlinks, Google will only give you a certain number of results (maybe a percentage??)

Perhaps Google has already sent many of these pages to the supplemental results.
