A lot of times, the page refreshes and I don't see my comment OR the post just turns blank and nothing is shown. How do I post my comment? Do I have to subscribe or something?
It may be that the blogs have comment moderation enabled, and your comment will only appear once they have read it and decided that it is acceptable. Or, if it is wordpress blogs you may be tagged as a spammer. You will need to make some comments on blogs that rescue the comments from askmet to revome the spammer status.
If you comment in dead blogs there are hardy chances to see your comments also some time your comment might be get deleted by mistaken as spam posts.

Your comment is just being send to their moderation queue, not necessarily marked as spam. If you are unsure, you can always write an e-mail to Akismet, telling them your commenting e-mail and they will help you check whether you have been marked as a spammer.

Someone has probably already answered your question but it's because they probably have the Askimet Widget applied. They have to approve your comment before you see it, Askimet is a widget which blocks spam comments. So that is probably why you are receiving this problem -- Hamish
