This is my first post and I like to say hi to every body.
I have been reading DP posts for some time now and I had few questions for all you webmasters.
I have read here lots of time that “contents are king” but it raises a question that how come all those high ranking sites maintain their high ranks even though they change their contents (keywords) very frequently and some time even the whole page is changed in a given day ( e.g., news and blogs sites etc). In other words if keywords on a page gets changed few times a day, how come they are still at the top?
Is because of back links they have for their sites?

So as long as you have good back links you can change your contents to what ever and your page will still rank high?

    It is quite easy, shoda.
SE robots take something like a snapshot of your pages when they crawl them.
Then they use these snapshots to judge, if they meet the relevancy criteria for the respective search.
In the meantime you can change your page content freely, the SEs only work with that cached snapshot, unless they visit your site again and are willing to change the snapshot in the cache memory.

So let’s say IF I have a PR8 page and my contents are about Hawaiian earth quick,
Tomorrow I write on Paris Hilton, would it still be a PR8 page or it will be judge accordingly? Please keep CNN website in mind where contents are changing constantly but still it is at highest ranks.

I think you are right. Then I have to say that "contents are not king" it is who you know. You needs to be known among royals.

thats right or you can say that content is not all about for seo,
lot of fectors are there but in simple words if you are having a site with relevant content and its ranking for its relevant kws, and now if you chage it's content to irrelevant content, then definatly after some time you will start loosing your rankings in SEs.

Content is king when it encourages people to link to you without having to be paid/asked/bribed
