Im new to Adwords, so im not sure whats going on here Right now it says: Bids (Auto) Default bid$1.85 Managed placements bid$1.85 Off Content bidOff Now here's what I dont understand..... I put a maximum bid per click at like $20 because I want to outbid everyone My average cost per click a few weeks ago when I started the campaign was around 33 cents... then it went to around 60 cents... then 85 cents... then higher and higher Now im at $1.85 How come my clicks are getting more expensive? Also, here are my stats: Total - all keywords 278 Clicks 9,746 Impressions CT -- 2.85% Average CPC $0.91 Total Paid: $253.55 Average position 3.5 Are these good stats????
Now its even higher, here are my new stats: Total - all keywords 410 13,436 3.05% $1.06 $435.35 3.2 Anyone know whats going on here?
Check on the Quality score for your keywords... If the QS improves, the rates should drop down. Keep a tab on the quality score for your page.
I actually had it at $10 max ..... and seem to be coming #1 for all keywords..... I was paying over $1.81 today ..... about $100/day the last few days So now, I just changed it to .25 ...... id love to pay 25 cents for these damn keywords insteasd of $1.81 Sheesh Lets see what happens
I'm just starting on AdWords, I'm on automatic right now, but I'll keep an eye on it. Is it best to start on auto?
I have the same issue. I add a campaign, starts letting me get clicks at 10 cents and I'm on the first page. Next day it says 25 cents for front page. Next day 40, and so on.... When I check the other ads from my keywords they are not specifically targeted like my ads, they are generic. I am thinking it must be related to some kind of quality or lower click rate than the generic ads?
Never use auto. You want to have more control over your costs. With auto, you're basically telling Adwords to show as high as possible. So it will gladly oblige given your QS. If it's low, you'll pay more. Work on improving your QS first while keeping a firm hand on costs. Once you hit a Qs of 8 to 10, then maybe you can auto-bid but even then I wouldn't use it.
Sounds like a quality score issue to me. To improve your quality score, it helps to bid on keywords that appear on your website, and use those keywords in your advertisement. That's a good starting point...
I think its because of the relatively low CTR which might be driving your quality score lower. Keep an eye on your quality score - anything below 7 is not good imho.
Could be that someone else also thought, I want to outbid everyone for that7those keywords and you two end up competing against each other. The auto feature is basically telling Google, here, decide for yourself how much you want to get paid! So use that one with care. I can see new users who are trying things out can find t helpful with some auto features, because it's a lot to keep track of in the beginning. But you need to have a quite strong campaign already figured out, with daily limits and so on, high QS and then, maybe, just set it to auto and move on with your time and energy to other projects.
Remove auto-bidding. Also if that is off and same continues then it's okey depending on the amount of traffic you're getting adWords will even out your cost by the end of the month.
