How come http://site.com doesnt work? but www.site.com does

Im working on a new site and I was always checking the site with the www. infront, (its been up for atleast 4 days) but today i went and checked the site without the www. and it is showing:

and a bunch of other stuff about it. How can I make it work?

 

Your hosting company should be able to do this for you.
In the httpd.conf file, under VirtualHost, they just need to add a ServerAlias with the other URL (site.com).

 

Just wait for dns to populate all the datacenters.

Yeah, that could be the reason. Then again, he says he waited for 4 days - which is a pretty long time.

 

Depends on the host. Some take 7 days.

I think this is right, as now that I look at my site, I have the same problem.

Without the www, it is showing the page for the default directory, not the ftp folder. I need to add the virtual names.
