    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

How can you tell if Google is punishing you (because of the ad-network)?

Dunno if this has been mentioned yet but notice how a few months after the co-op network, they (as I hear) devalued the links, AND come up with their own version. Google's new Adlink thing, same concept, different style

They haven't devalued coop links. Everything you've heard about that is rumor, speculation, and hysteria.

minstrel is right ... i have my opinions, i have no hard facts yet. i'm actually thinking my recent issues are too little variation of anchor text + heavy weight

I agree, that was my point. I should have quoted what I was referring to....here it is though. I disagree that adlinks is google's 'version' of the co op, they aren't even related.

The thing is we will never know which way it's going with Google. We have to rely on our own triggers and monitors. The best way is right here where we have hardcore COOP users.

Here is something that I have recently noticed. My BIG site is the sole reason I am hear.

    1)Yahoo- link:www.mydomain.com= Results 1 - 20 of about 244,000 for link:link:www.mydomain.com

    2)MSN- 1-9 of 15,823 containing www.mydomain.com (0.21 seconds)

    3)Google- Results 1 - 10 of about 1,480 linking to www.mydomain.com. (0.24 seconds)

At MSN and Yahoo it is disgusting...I totally rule number #1 postion on ALL keyphrases.

At Google the story is much different. There is no doubt in my mind Google is the most complexed search engine on the planet.

EDIT: BTW I have almost 200k in weight focussed on this site

I would think that this latest Google update should reassure a few people and help to put this rumor to rest... anyone seeing any giant penalties on sites with coop ads?

NO penalties here, in fact Google's link: nets COOP's in the top. But it seems they are completely discounting (not penalizing) some coop links. Which is what we thought may occur devalued not penalties.

I am pretty certain that penalties are not the concern here. In my mind I am looking for some sense of value from Google. Right now I am seeing it, but not as it was 1-3 months ago.

It seems that the COOP effect with Google has become a little diluted but still very worthy.

Some websites I have ranking well for the first few days then google notices the links are disapearing and it drops the serps no matter if I give the link more wieght in the co-op which really sucks.

I went from PR5 to PR2, BUT I really doubt it has to do with the Coop.

yes there is. for adlinks, you click on the keyword and are taken to a page of ads. the co op, you click on the link and are taken to another webpage. again, apples and oranges.
