When posting here, link back to the page you want to SEO in your sig. For instance, I run a blog called Besting AdWords. This link and the one in my sig reinforce my Webpage in the Google index (assuming this page is indexed). Further you can attach keywords to your Webpage by link text. For instance, I can attach AdSense to my blog, by link as such. Make sense? And I killed three birds with one stone ;)

Another 3-4 posts will take care of that. Forums also get you a lot of exposure, so make sure the link text tells what your site is about, just a few words.

Spy on competitors is very good advise. Find the sites ranking like you would want to, check their keywords and how they show on the main page. Don't just copy this, but it gives you a starting reference.

After I get a set of keywords, I use a keywords tracking program to be sure people are using the words in searches. Try to base your content on keywords that are used frequently but have relatively low competition.

Add links to your site EVERY day. Use forums, directories, article submission, Press release sites. Start with only a few a day and work your way up so it doesn't look like you are using one of the spamming link generators.
