How can you get PR5 with no Google backlinks??

I'm looking at buying a domain which has a pagerank of 5. The strange thing is, when I check in Google and any backlink tool, 0 backlinks are detected.

How is this possible? Will the PR disappear?

    Thanks

    Check Yahoo.

Google doesnt list all links to your site.

when you 301 a load of links to a new site the pagerank is transfered fairly quickly however the backlinks might not show for several months.

Be careful when buying expired domains for PR. Usually once they drop Google resets their PR and IBL counts.

Yeah, looks like they got banned, the link is worthless unless it sends a lot of traffic

That's why I don't buy domain unless if it's from a reputable member of DP.
Some of this domain with PR are somehow worthless because the backlinks of this domain are gone. PR is based on backlinks. So it means if the site has no solid backlinks, PR is reset to 0.

no backlinks could be less traffic or it is going to be banned soon
Google backlinks update time is not always same as PR update time
Cheat high PR is also possible
    good luck :D :D :D :D
