I have an account with ICICI Bank.

You just have to go and tell them you want to remit money to another country. You will have to use a branch where forex services are provided.

They will give your three forms.

The forms are simple, nothing much to fill. ICICI Bank just asks for my signature and a copy of my PAN card.

 

hey guys, i am from Trinidad and Tobago, and i got a friend from india, he wants to send money to me but its not an easy procedure , first u have to go to the bank that you are in and sign up a remittance form, it takes about 2 months for the bank to gives permission, then on january 5th 2013 the bank called him and told him he can send money after he signed the declaration form , but u can only send a certain amount of money for only a year, the declaration form takes about 3 weeks, after he gets permission he send money to me straight in my bank account it takes 24-48hours, try it and see... who knows it can take less, thats what the news he gave me, thats the only way u can send through the bank

 

Yes, there are 2-3 forms to be filled, but no permission is required.

It doesn't take that long. The bank starts processing the transfer as soon as the forms are submitted.

I have sent money a few times. It takes less than 7 days for the transfer to be completed.

 

Could u provide links(.doc/.pdf) for those forms & to which country did u wire the amount?

If u can recollect, what was the transaction fee. Are there any limitations(viz., 10$ for transactions upto 1000$)?

 

I don't have scanned copies of the forms. Nothing much to fill in the forms, just the usual details of the sender and receiver.

If you send the amount has gift, no further questions will be asked. If you send as business payment, they may ask for invoice etc.

I sent money to Philippines and Singapore.

As the amounts were small, I had to pay the minimum fees each time - Rs 500 + taxes.
