How can we send money from India to other countries ?

We cant send money using WU in India, we can only receive...

Can you elaborate on procedure ? Have you ever tired it ? And can we send money to any part of world using it ?

 

I haven't tried any of them yet but Bank Wire Transfer or SWIFT Transfer is the safest way to transfer funds globally (it's a little expensive and it takes some time), check with your bank about more information. Mainly, you need to have the Recepient's Name, Bank Name, Account Number, SWIFT Code for completion of the transfer.

MoneyGram is more like Western Union where you need Recipient's Details for sending the money. Transfer fee is $10 (minimum) and the recipient can pick-up the money within 10 minutes.

 

I just checked out Moneygram doesn't work for India as well.

I am looking for someone who has actually send money from India... I am looking for a service that does it officially, not looking for PP / MB and other personal kinda payments ...

I went to Bank for inquiry and they told me that we can not justs send money like that ... there are some strict RBI rules for it, and we got to have a solid reason for it , plus some documetation ... I just want t o send iut to a friend, and that is not good enough of a reason for them

who told you that a demand draft cannot be sent overseas?

any bank will make a US$ demand draft.

$500 can be sent as a gift.

 

If you have PayPal, then just Xoom him the money. You don't have to give any documentations for it, just send him in 10 mins.

so does that mean that we can only send money to countires which have above currencies ?

Xoom doesn't works in all counties too bro.. in fact paypal got more countries than xoom... so we can send it thru paypal only ...

but what abt non paypal countries

and send a wire transfer.

I already do for one software. thay asked me can u give u proof ?

i said yes (i really have the proof buy they dont ask me to show).

they said ok & initiated the transfer without problem .

i went to SBI.. that chap gave me half n hour lecture on RBI guidelines n FEMA... n u make it look like u r buying sabzi ....

You can send it to any country....but the receiver will be charged a small fee for the currency conversion.

My dad frequently sends DD to US.

The conversion rate is the exact rate, prevailing on the day that the DD is made.

The fee is Rs 200-300 for Rs 10000 draft.... but varies from bank to bank. (ICICI says Rs 200....maybe they have a fixed rate).

He sends the DD by registered post...which costs less than Rs 50 and takes 5 days to reach US.

I don't know why your banker is so much bothered about your purpose. My dad just fills the form (in which the purpose has to be mentioned) and nobody asks any questions.

 

yes you can send money through western union anywhere in the world... also if you have a SBI account then you can get a international bank draft on the name of the person you want to send the money to... also wiretransfer works at any bank... there are lots of ways to send money anywhere in the world.... also postal service offer some money transfering service to send money out side india...

but i think you need to get a bank demand draft from SBI or any other bank... and mail the draft to the person.... but for that you will need the name, address, phone number and bank account number of the person you want to send the money to.... or go for western union... also if you have a credit card then you can send money through western union directly online....

xoom dont support all countries... but you can get paid from any country through xoom even from country that is not listed on xoom.... the only thing is that not all countries can receive money through xoom.... i never send money to anyone through xoom... i use xoom only to withdraw my own money to my bank....
