How can we scan a joomla site?

    How can we scan a joomla site for malware or virus online in the server itself? any extension(open source)?

    i think for scan your site you can look tools at this link sectools.org/web-scanners.html, and for protect your joomla site, you can use any extensions in this link extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-a-security/site-security, cmiiw

    I think having server with antivirus option is the best solution...on the other hand you can always do it locally :p On your back up maybe...

    -download all files to pc for backup-
    backup your "template folder", "configuration.php" and erase all files from host
    than upload new Joomla files except "installation" folder
    while scan your template folder manually, it has max. 10 files
    upload your scanned template and cfg file
    finally change your ftp pass

    You may be able to find an online virus scan plug in on the joomla site. Check out NinjaSecurity or Php Anti-Virus. I would post the links but I don't have access to live links yet.
