It becomes very difficult for a publisher to monitor clicks when he has a very busy site (or sites). In reality, some could spend all day analysing logs and looking for suspicious content. It really isn't something you can be proactive at. Sometimes you're away from the computer for days on end. How can you really be expected to monitor then?

Google really do need to make tools available for publishers to use in the Google Ads control panel section. They've scratched the surface with Authorized Sites, but we need much more.

This is a tool that Google should install at its end and not an Adsense publisher. If Google bans a publisher for invalid clicks, they should provide details of such and not just send an automated email containing links to their TOS.

Heard of many cases where Google bans an Adsense publisher for invalid clicks and withholds all payments. Some publishers are really innocent but are banned for life.

Important question here is, What happens to the money? Does Google return the money to the advertisers?

How many clicks from the same IP would be considered fraud? 2.3.5. 10?

Can't say...depends upon those 5 clicks. Could be, or it could be a legit visitor. I get 5 and have had no problems.

Click Lock is a script which will hide your adsense ads after a number of clicks you specified happened, it can also replace your adsense ads with amazon ads, ebay...

It's not 100% click fraud proof, it can be bypassed by experienced users, but will weed out 80% of click bombs, clickfests etc.... :)

This website uses click lock efficiently

Yes, I had a number of AdWords campaigns that received a refund for "invalid" clicks. It was not much, but still nice to have big G to care about you :).
