find the best category, use the link at the top of the page to suggest it. (it''l read SUGGEST URL) there really is nothing more too it! THough be sure to read the add page!
DMOZ is not that active anymore. You might want to rethink your idea about wasting time trying to submit your site there.
eshwar_kumar as Anonymously is an editor, please take his how-to over mine, especially as his went into far greater detail and was far more helpful. *rolls eyes*
Why does everyone find this so difficult? Read: http://www.dmoz.org/docs/en/add.html Then take extra special note of point #4 After running a directory for more than 10 years, I would wager the house that 99/100 people that submit and get rejected, do so because of failing to read and understand point 4. It's simple. Write an objective description of what your website has to offer, instead of making it promotional. Even though it is written in emphasis on the DMOZ suggestion page, it would get ignored, and then people come on here and whinge about being unable to get listed. Simple really. Read the rules and follow them. Or do whatever everyone else says and submit and forget, cos you won't get listed.
i read some article said, if you want DMOZ index your website, you have to wait at least to 3 months, with condition you have to care your website every day, such as post article, relevant contend... I dont know it's correct or not ? i added it 2 moths ago, i check it but still not yet have in DMOZ. i checked by tool of DMOZ
I've never heard of such rules. I must have been doing it wrong for the last decade OTOH, it's not necessarily true if your read it on the interwebs.
If you read the many threads on here dealing with length of time for a review for a possible listing, you would know that it is said countlessly that it can take from a few DAYS to a few YEARS.
Not enough editors... or simply no editors with an interest in the category you submitted too.... or possibly your site was rejected for any number of reasons... or the gods only know. There is nothing you can do about it accept move on to promoting your site by bigger and better methods then the ODP. They will not tell you anything about your submission, and they don't really care about you or your site. They do not communicate with anyone outside of their internal forums and even then many don't even bother with that. You have submitted, that is all you can do. thank you & best of luck!
So Jim Noble, Snooks and myself are figments of an imagination! I really did think that you were not that blind and could not see editors posting here. Should have gone to Specsavers!
That would be correct. With the exception of Jim maybe, most of the time the rest of the editors do not communicate here, they troll. This is a webmaster forum, and we all know how you feel about webmasters. So it's pretty clear you are not here to communicate, at least not in a civil and decent manner. Become an editor, or pay AOL for a mass listing of all the pages on your site.
Could nopt be easier, pick the category that your site best fits and then suggest it. Simple. Not unless you are asking for speciual help to get listed. Now that's the way to get your site banned for ever. It's called trying to bribe an editor. But I am sure that you did not mean that did you?
