    By proper structuring of your website. Target few (one would be best) keyword on your home page. Then target keywords with less competition as 1 tier keyword (could be categories). Your "good" keywords will be last and at the bottom of the tree.

    Primary keyword (greatest competition)
    --- 1. tier keyword (category) --- 1. tier keyword (category)
    ------ 2. second tier keyword (article) ------ 2. second tier keyword (article)

    Of course sharing more about your blog would greatly help. (you don't have to worry about competition)
