Just concentrate on content- two contents for two sites. So u can update the contents once in four days or twice weekly. You can satisfy the search engines...

I think it helps if a couple of them are wikis or social networking, sites that let your users drive the content. Then the only problem is keeping enough active members to have the site remain fresh.

On many of my websites, I hardly update the content...its not something that can be updated. I only have about 5 of my sites that I deal with monthly.

I'm updating a site I haven't touched for a year, it ranks top 5 in google for several targetted keywords, so I don't think there's a hard and fast rule. Just add quality content and it will get indexed and therefore it will be found.

    My 2 cents,
    tasty

I try to automate the process of adding content as much as possible, otherwise it would be impossible to have many sites. Also have some where i do not do any updates at all and those still bring in money...

Depends on what you want. I was running 12 websites and a 27 name investment domain portfolio and working a full time job. I finally decided, bigger is better and I'm expanding. I took on 4 bloggers and a small time designer.

It's tough to do, but you just gotta giv r hell.

Lol man you guys say "automate the process" like its an easy and cost effective thing to do at all :p

I only update one blog as of now, but I plan to update two with one article per day, so that'd be 14 in a week, the sites would be good enough with that sorta content floating around.

I never have any problems writing or thinking up content, so... thats a plus part.

I also have a brother who isn't very good at English atm but as soon as he gets a bit seasoned, I'll hook some blogs to him, or vice versa, whichever is appropiate at that stage of time.

I link them to my main website, so when they go on the main one, they can go on any of the other website. I just promote the main one.

You're supposed to update all your web-sites?

I take the Field of Dreams approach to web-development; build it and they'll come. There's no need to keep rebuilding or upgrading the ballpark on any frequent basis. I tend to overhaul major sections of my sites on a yearly basis. After a year if they paid bills they live, if they didn't then they are considered for getting the ax unless I happen to like them in which case I see about fixing them up.

Google is currently going to town on my wikipedia mirror; Cubia. One of these weekends I'm going to spend several hours cleaning it up and then it's done. It has over 3 million pages. If I feel ambitious I'm going to update it with the current wikipedia data dump which is well over 6 million pages.
