How can this domain be a PR3 with no history?

I recently registered debitsales.com and it was an expired domain.
I know because when I first looked at it, it was "Pending Delete".

It says the PR3 is valid, but the age of the domain is showing as 6 days. (That's how long ago I registered it)

There is no history, and it doen't exist in archive.org, but has 12 links.

How can it have a PR3?
    Thanks for any insight.

It is possible that Google may be updating the pagerank, it's common to see weird page ranks when they do that.

Why should the name have history? I think only the backlinks count towards PR. And if it is an expired domain name then it's not unusual that the name has old backlinks.

OK, thanks for the reply. So the pagerank probably won't stay?

Welkin, I just thought that the majority of domains that had been registered in the past and had a website, should show up in archive.org.

Maybe but I'm not sure that all of them show up in archive.org. Especially names that have been just parked.

I recently read of a technique whereby website owners used some form of a redirect or something (I'm no techie) to give an impression of a high PR.

    Maybe that's what happened!
