How can these sites rank higher than myn?

Okay well i have a number of blogs and they same thing is happening to a few of them.

They are all ranking behind blogs, with less posts. And not even about the keyword. E.G I have blogs based on Sachin Tendulkar, Shahid Afridi, Mike Tyson and others. Those blogs, in the same name searches are ranking behind other blogs and sites, that aren't even about those people, rather have e.g "Mike Smith is in Tyson ville" .

Also my blogs have more back links then those sites. I have bought high PR directory links for each.

How can this be happening?

Also how come Back link watch isn't showing all my backlinks?

 

if they are ranking better than you, i think it means that they have stronger backlinks. and you can also use Yahoo Site Explorer to check their and your backlinks

 

No myn have higher PR and more backlinks. ??

 

To me theres just so many inconsistencies. Another site of myn is ranked 14 with yahoo and 1st on google.

 

i have experienced those things before and i analyze that, you have blog hosted on blog spot where as other blogs are might be on their own site. which are more old with compare to your blog. domain age play a big role in search ranking.

 

Does domain age play that big of a role? I was informed it was minor.

 

Is your site new? What is your site's PR? Granted, PR isn't everything, but if you have a PR 2, you probably aren't going to dominate.

Google takes time before they start handing out rankings. One of my sites took 9 months to rank for any decent term. Then POOF! I was getting 2,000 uniques per day from Google.

Well its not new, but its 4 months old, and hasn't been part of a PR update yet, which i guess is hurting its rankings. Could this play a part?

 

I guess the question is "What search engines are ranking other sites higher than yours?"

If you are talking page rank, you must only be talking about Google.

Google uses so much misdirection and misinformation it is hard to know how they are ranking sites.

For instance, you don't really know how many backlinks another website has because the link command only shows a fraction.

How are you doing in Yahoo or MSN? If you are ranking behind there as well, then you know it is a site issue and not a search engine issue.

 

My friend 4 months is new with compare to other sites which are 2-3 years old. and one more thing there is not any big relation between pr and ranking. i had worked on some site which are on first page for millions competition and page rank is 0.

 

Its ranking 1st with yahoo and msn.
