I noticed that most of the article directories are PR5-. I guess they will return Pr3 in the best case.. So how can submitting to article directories work? Do you think it is better than web directory submissions? What are your experience with them? Do you really care to submit an original article to a PR3 article directory?
Submitting to an article directory is good ,the only thing that worries me is the fact that one article get submitted to several article directories ,it means the same content gets published on different websites ,meaning google sees it as duplicate content . I wonder if google only takes note of article directories with a high page rank ,and just drop the rest ,or only take note of directories with a long online history . Is it good to make use of a article submit service? Karen
When you submit an article to a article directory they make it available for their members to use. The requirement is that your resource box must be kept with the article. This contains your url. So as webmasters pick up your article for display on their site you get backlinks from each webmaster using your article. The combined backlinks of all the sites using your article is what helps your site. Plus you get some clicks from people who read your resource box and are interested in seeing your web site. ezgoing8
Plus the pr of the article directory may rise providing a more valuable backlink in the future. I place equal importance on both Article Sites and web directories..
I have submitted numerous articles to article directories. The reason that I do it is for the links, not the PR. In fact, I don't believe that I get any PR from this, nor do I care. The page that the article is actually placed on will be a PR0 and will likely remain that way. But since I am going after links instead of PR it doesn't matter to me. One theory is that you can avoid a duplicate content penalty by placing the article on your site first, allow it to get indexed, check for this using the site: command for that page, then submit to the article directories.
At an article directory like GoArticles.com, anyone can copy your article and paste it to their own site, if they leave your links intact. This gives you another backlink, from a site with a PR that is potentially up to 10!
From my standpoint, being able to select your own link text and deep linking to a couple of pages on your website are the big advantages of submitting articles.
Article submission is a personal favorite of mine when it comes to getting my link out there. It is viral in the sense that webmasters and publishers can take your article and post it on their sites, ezines or newsletters. I prefer this over link directory submission any day. You'd be lucky if you got a single visitor from any of those directories in my opinion.
Honestly it varies a great deal depending on the topic, the depth of the article, and the amount of research required. If it is a topic that I am more familiar with I would guess about an hour to an hour and a half.
The easiest way is to buy plr articles on your subject, read them and then rewrite them in your own words. Gives you a completely original article without all the research time. Of course you want to use a good plr source whose research you can trust since it's your reputation that is online.
I assume he means private label reports or rights, I've seen it used both ways. These are reports where you are allowed to claim authorship as if you wrote them yourself. Many require you to make at least 25% changes before you use them, others allow you to submit them to directories as is, other require a large percentage of the article or report be rewritten. In the example above he is stating do a complete rewrite using your own words. This is the safest method. gene
