How can PHPLinkdirectory call itself a Directory script

Lol funny how people complain about free stuff... someone offers their hard work for free and you complain? Remove the link for $75? WEll thats more than fair, if you want to remove the link it means you are out to make some money otherwise you wont mind that link there.

People are saying this is a free program, however it seems to cost $25/$75. What am I missing?

 

v2 is free and still available. v3 is the paid version.

 

SearchBoyGlobal seems to be confused about the nature of open source software and about the nature of the $75 fee for the right to remove the copyright notice. My guess is that's the least of his/her problems.

phpLD is a worthy directory script with a dedicated coding team and support community. The small amount charged for the version 3 update doesn't even start to compensate for the hours of time put in by the coders who have worked on this project. And, as others have stated, when a solution to a bug isn't readily available, it rarely takes long for one to appear, either as a bug fix or as a mod.

As mystikmedia says, you can use version 2 for free. Those who want to support the continued development of the script can upgrade to version 3 for $25. In time, version 3 will also be offered at no charge. I was among those who felt the $25 was well worth it to encourage continued development and to have access to the new features in version 3 now.

No one is required to pay $75. If you wish to remove the copyright and linkback from the script, David Duval offers you the option of doing that for $75 - personally, I would have made that amount at least double that. I don't want to remove the copyright personally - I'm happy to acknowledge the work the development team has put into this.

I have install php script and i didnt found any bug in intalling or executing the script. it is amzing script.really it was my dream that may be i have my own directory.I will thanx php link directory for such i nice help.

PHPLD VER 2 on all my directories.
Mainly because I am a cheap sort of dawg.
Easy to upload and easy to set up, easy to change the templates, just plain easy all together.

In fact, just uploaded a new directory using it!

Anyone having problems uploading the script, or fixing it to work right, plenty of us here will help you.

 

I have to eat my words now I use it and got a v.cheap coder to add some mods. Sorry guys was angry at the time without probably knowing what I was talking about. I might even upgrade to paid version now.

 

Hey come on guys FFS, I never deserved red rep there with 'lol' in it. I was just going over to the design area and get a design done for the new version but who the hell is going to deal with me with red rep that I just don't deserve, what you go do that for whoever you are.

 

Unfortunately, DP has always had a sizeable group of rep happy morons, aka rep bullies, many of whom don't like to have their "opinions" challenged by new information.

is php link directory 2 under GNU GPL or some other? is php link directory 3 based on php link direcoty 2 or is it new script?

 

i not sure it list at GNU, but it good enough for beginner and phplink3 have more function and good support if you pay for support forum.

go to they site for more information... they forum have a lot information for V2, before i buy they script (i mean v3) i using V2, i no need to ask, but just search at they forum... and have answer what i want...

I don't see why anyone could have anything bad to say about your script Dave it's obviously a great and very popular piece of software. I definitely wouldn't take it to heart.

usually I wouldn't post to bump an old thread again but I will to tell kidsnscience he can have some red rep for trying to build his post count up with actions like this
red reps are best used on people like this as maybe with an infaction or too he will learn how to use a forum

 

hmm i understand this guy who complain. if this script is under gnu gpl then he can remove everything what he want. if version 3 is based on version 2 and version 2 is under gnu gpl then he can use version 3 to and make what he want. if it is not gnu gpl then he is wrong and he must obbey. if script is some kind of free licence
then it is not open source.
