How can one raise eCPM

Isn't eCPM the amount of money you will make if your ads on a certain site are displayed per thousand times ?

Seems most advertisers are going to use this eCPM thing, and save money. How can an adsense user raise it ? Any hints, ideas

    My eCPM averages $5.00

Yes, eCPM is how much you make per thousand impressions.

Most advertisers don't really have much control of CPM, but site targeted advertiser do. Google's algorithm automagically selects the ads that will give you the best eCPM. So, if an advertiser reduces his CPC or CPM, then he'll get less impressions.

$5 is pretty decent. There's lots of things you can do to raise your eCPM. If you drop us the URL of your site, then maybe someone here can suggest a thing or two.

Have you loaded your site in IE? I suspect most users see all that white space and assume your site is broken and leave immediately.

$5 eCPM really high, you guys think? I do get $5 to $10 eCPM, but my traffic is low though.

A friend of mine doing "airlines" genrè got pretty low eCPM, something like less than $1 but he earns a lot because of his traffic.

Hmmm.. $5 eCPM is good atleast for me who is getting around $2 from my high traffic kids and entertainment based sites .Now i am planning to concentrate on high paying keywords that yield decent eCPM.

eCPM depends on alot of factors according to me it depends on the CTR and impression and also on high paying ads.

If your ads are high paying u have eCPM higher.
If page impression are less u have higher eCPM.
If your CTR is higher you have higher eCPM.

If i am wrong please correct me.

I guess that's true then. Usually my eCPM will "spike" in the 1st few hours to something like $20 to $40, only to stabilize back at the normal eCPM by the day's account closing.

Yes I read somewhere I forgot, that if CPC raise, eCPM will fall. But I think because that 'smart pricing scheme', if many ads with high CPM was clicked then google replace that ads with lower CPM ads.

But in my report I always see once CPC raise eCPM will follow.
