If you really want to learn spoken English without institute then here are some sugestion but you need to follow it thoroughly.
    1) Read any English newspaper daily for 30 min.
    2) Listen English news for 30 min daily.
Follow this like anything for one month, I'm sure from the next day you will be far superior then what you were a month ago.
    Good Luck

BBC World. You can listen on the radio, or online.
Their news is mostly propaganda, but at least they encourage their announcers to speak moderately universally understandable English.
Also, don't try to hide your Indian accent. Don't complicate it by trying to sound American or English.

I learned English by watching English cartoons as a kid. Maybe it works for you too? ;) Having family in the US and Canada also helps a lot I must say...

To learn spoken english you have to speak, not read ;) Try Omegle or different chat sites and just talk to people :)

To learn any language you need to practice it. Try to find native English speakers and make friends with them. Try to speak a lot and don't be shy.
Getting new language is much easier when it's fun.

Totally agree, listen to BBC , maybe try to practice as you listen, record into your smartphone and play it out to see which parts need to be improved.

I read in a newspaper that a Brazilian school of languages made arrengements with several care centers for elderly people, to have appointments with their students (the ones that are in an advance level and can hold a conversation). They put a webcam, and spend one huor just speaking. Great for the students, and an entertainment for old people.

I think you should try that, find people online that wants to spend time just talking to you.

    Hope it helped!

Great idea - but find a legitimate way to get connected. I occasionally get people on skype who just want to chat and be friends - not the right way to go about finding someone to practice with.

Well, the idea would be to be truthful and tell people you want to practice your english AND make friends. I believe you can find lots of people that want to learn your language too, so, should not be hard to find partners and practice.

    Cheers!

Don't learn from a thesaurus - newspapers are great - they pitch their language at 12 year olds and is a good goal to get started with.

Watch English shows. Find funny or entertaining videos to watch on YouTube.

Read. Check out some comics, read some 9gag.

It's important to be able to enjoy yourself while trying to learn something. You'll pick it up a lot faster otherwise.
