    The only way you would know is if you had like 200 websites and you tracked the sites performance on a daily basis. The only thing you can do is to keep reading updated material from the experts and to keep a close eye on your own sites. I get pretty frustrated with Google and don't understand why they do what they do. But you could always get traffic other ways.

    If you find your listing appearing for unusual keywords or your listing disappearing for regular keywords then it becomes easy to understand that something new has been implemented.

    However, reading other famous and popular blogs of some seo experts might give you an idea of some changes ;)

    As I know, it depends on your site updating frequence .
    If your page updating frequently, google think the page is important and will update it frequently.
    I used to find one site of mine was updated everyday by googlebot in webmaster tools panel .

    Here is what you do, create a heap of site "but" you promote most them with only one method.

    One with just links from article directories, one with just links from footers and so on. This way you can not only track algo changes, but see what scoring methods Google has tweaked.

    We know it has been changed recently, for sure. We don't know what the change is. I don;t think anybody know for sure except google themselves.
