    None of the above works.

    I faced the same problem sometime back.
    I got a client who needs Arabic design and when I tried typing arabic text it was not working. I tried many alternatives but nothing worked.
    Finally someone suggested to install "Arabic / Middle East version of Photoshop."
    AND IT WORKED.

    As far as I know this is the only and permanent solution for this problem.
