hay programmer, I would like to know if its possible to upload my own video to my blog without uploading it to youtube or any other site, then embedded it to my blog?
Yes its fairly easy, convert your video to FLV format (there are plenty of threads on there telling you how so I wont repeat them), find a Flash player such as FW Player, Flowplayer or GDDPlayer. Most of these have examples on how to embed. Upload the FLV file to your server, put the embed code into your webpage and your done. BUT there is a reason most people use YouTube or Vimeo or something similar, most people's webhosting just isn't geared up to high volumes of video, if you get a large number of people trying to view at the same time you will get VERY slow perfomance, yet YouTube etc wouldn't have that issue. I would upload to youtube, but what if I dont want the entire world to be watching it, only member from my blog...
Now you have an FLV player have a look at the Wordpress plugins for Flash video, find one, install it and read the instructions. Its honestly not difficult but differs with what ones you choose. Jen
