How can I tell when host transfer is complete?

    Hi-

I transferred a Blogger site from 1and1 to Bluehost today. I'm pretty new at all this, and am happy to have gotten that far! My question is, how can I tell when the host transfer is complete? Here's what I've done so far:
    • Backed up three different ways!
    • Changed my DNS for the domain.
    • Added the domain at Bluehost.
    • Uploaded all my files and folders that I had backed up via FTP.

Once the transfer is complete, I believe the last thing I'll need to do is change the FTP location on Blogger's setup. But how do I know when it's complete?

All this is in preparation for a switch from Blogger to WP. But that's the next step.

Thanks for any help you can offer a noob.

you can check the IP address, ping your new site and see what ip address pops up, you can also check the registrar to see if it shows the new DNS

Exactly, even when a new site has resolved at your location it may still be loading from the old IP at other locations. 2 days is a good rule of thumb.

Hmm, hadn't even thought about pulling everything off the server. I'm glad you mentioned that. I'll give it another day.
