How can I stop SMTP from cpanel?

    Can I stop SMTP for one cpanel account?
    (I have cpanel account on a shared server)

    If I cant what kind of server do I need? :confused:
    (vps,dedicated server)

    You cannot STOP SMPT for a single account using any controlpanel, all you can do is just change the permission of the mail accounts to stop accessing them.
    I hope you are looking for the same.

    Not via Cpanel for a single account, but via WHM (Root)

    You can stop Exim but thats not a good idea.
    You can even setup a port other than 25 for SMTP so that only the ones who know that port can use SMTP.
