How can I stop all these spam comments?

I'm so sick of getting spam comments on my website. I didn't used to get any, but now they're coming thick and fast, despite having plugins which are supposed to stop it.

Any ideas? I'm getting sick of deleting them all.

 

Turn on akismet and this perhaps https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-my-login/ changes the url.

Also, make sure you delete the users in question.

Akismet should've came with WP by default. Or if you don't get many legit comments-just turn comments off. I have my comments turned off.

 

I had this problem and simply decided to do away with comments all together, using the "No Comments" plugin...

 

I'm using the free plugin "WordPress Zero Spam" and it works well. You can give it a try.

Or you could also add captcha for your comments forms (probably there is a plugin for this).

 

WordPress site? Just use Disqus plugin.
Will end spam and promote real comments.

Forget using captcha, captcha is childs play to bypass for a comment spammer.

 

I agree with Mkcoy. If you want to get rid of spamming, Disqus is the best plugin because a simple captcha can not stop spam if you are a spammer.
